We are building the third level here, for GODart works (me and Miskat <3), and we need some posters for 3d art, cause we can't move them at ItaliaSL cause sim is full.
So we thought about a big poster for every 3d work that will explain the work, it will be easier to place it there :)

About Freak Museum: we are working there and there we will organize a party to launch the opening of the museum made by Miskat Qinan. Museum will be permanent :)

Freak Show time is over

I’m leaving my SL projects. Freak Show will be closed after our last show, GODart.
Freak Show has been an amazing adventure inside feelings, arts, provocations, people, and I’ll bring it in my heart forever. During last months many things changed. Inside of me and outside of me. I understood SL users are fed up with SL pictures, they love to create more complex experiments, like machinima, RL pictures, sculptures, performances and much more. I told with many people during this period, overall people that followed me ever. Same feeling. Art through SL pictures is over. I don’t think this is a bad thing, cause people are tempted to imagine something else. Like moving images, or 3d sculptures. More fantasy, more passion. This is a good thing for art connected to SL. Inside of me, something changed. I understood Freak Show time is ended. We did three showrooms: Freaks VS Beauty Paranoia, Pornosophy and now, GODart. I’m so satisfied. However, Freak Show born like a pictures show, and cause of this global perception, it has to been closed.
My relation with SL changed. Maybe cause I have so many things to do in RL, maybe cause I left Flickr, maybe cause my feelings with people I met on SL changed. Sometimes you have to understand when you have to finish a period of your life. I feel this, Freak Show time is ended.
In spite of that, I’ll ever support SL and Virtual Art, with or without Freak Show. My IM will be always open to help people to promote artistic events, to join projects and to bring SL art outside of Metaverse.
And maybe, one day, I'll do something else (yes, I’ve already some ideas :D).
And these are, for now, my projects:
1) To gather all works together I'm creating an interesting project @ ItaliaSL sim. Thanks to this fantastic builder, Miskat Qinan. He is one of the best builders of SL, I love him and his work. (And also thanks to Jacopo Perenti, owner of ItaliaSL, who gave us space for this project.)
This building will be called: FREAK SHOW MUSEUM. Structure is amazing, all made by Miskat; he realized a divine project, and I love atmosphere he was able to give it. You can see all our galleries there, Freaks VS Beauty Paranoia, Pornosophy and GODart (when we'll finish the show on my land). We'll do a fucking cool closing party, so stay tuned, a lot of fun is waiting for you!

The FREAKShow FACTORY

Her concept FREAKShow has been revolutionary from the start and her policy of showing art without selection and censorship sure have shown us the wide spectrum of what people consider art.
FREAKShow lets the spectator decide. There is a place for everything. And in that way it also becomes a showcase of the variety and diverse talent of Second Life.
It shows me one of the reasons why SL is so addictive for many. You can show your vision, share your work. And this in ways never possible for many in their first lives.
This sums up pretty much why I am honoured to have been asked to modify one of my existing builds and have it used as the FREAKShow FACTORY (museum).
With the third show coming up, the factory will eventually permanently host the first 3 ‘generations’ of FREAKShow.
Within the factory, which functions as a museum and event location another space can be found.
It is a replica of Elwyn, the hidden garden named after the man who kept alive while others attempted to destroy it. Loglady specifically requested this to be in ‘her factory’ as well.
I am proud that the work amazing works created by so many is now hosted in one of my builds and that I could have add a little world outside of the factory creating the atmosphere that will help give FREAKShow its legacy.

2) About location for GODart: I bought a 6000 mq land, and there we'll do the show. I'm building this place in line with theme of the show, I hope you’ll like it. When GODart will be finished, I’ll move all works on Freak Show Museum, so people could come to visit all entries together.

I wanna thank all people that gave me support, help, friendship and smiles (overall Bettina Tizzy, Miskat Qinan and Faina Cortes, so closed to me during this period). And all artists that followed me, I dunno why!, and gave me the power to do this. Freak Show has been a fantastic experience of my life, I learnt so many important things and I’ll use them every day of my life. Please, don’t forget our group and our aim, cause Art is the only piece of real freedom we will have forever. No one can take off your passion for Art. No one can take off your freedom to imagine. SL is only a medium, fantasy is the most powerful thing we have.

Tell me what is your religion.
Religion is not only a spiritual organization with symbols, beliefs and practices. Religion is linked to Trascendental and Spiritual concepts, and also with the consciousness of the Limit of Human Mind. Who believes in no-one over us, who believes in a Thinking Entity that rules the world, who doesn’t care about the meaning of life, who thinks that Religious Institutions are only a way to control people, joined into the same symbol. Who needs Religion to live better, who entrusts all the life to God. In the name of God history took place; wars, homicides, love, humanity, help, solidarity, lies, power, self-improvement.
Religion defines our culture, traditions, hates; Religion creates rules and liberty; Religion can be destructive or creative.
Tell me in what you believe. Show me your personal concepts of Religion. Do it through SL medium, this blank canvas available for you, in which you can explain your idea with freedom.
I know, it’s another hard theme, full of delicate arguments. No censor as always, everyone can explains own vision of Religion and Faith. And I want to underline that a different thought about Religion is not offensive, but only personal. And we have to respect all different points of view. Cause world is various, and this show wants to link all this concepts together.

Sex is the engine of the world. Sex is necessary to our body and our mind. Sexual desire makes us human and lets us survive. But most of all, we love sex.
Pornography is the explicit representation of all the above. Unlike erotism, pornography does not hide behind intellectual standards, it is not censored, there is not emotion, it is just a mere physical act, perfect and wonderful.
In pornography we can find the truth, in pornography we bare ourselves and our perversions, without conflicts or shame.
This kind of representation has always existed in men's history, and it is also the oldest. The first pornographer in history was the painter painter Parrasios, who lived at the times of Socrates, he was in love with the prostitute Theodora and painted her naked (in Greek "painter of prostitute" = pórnē gráphos). WHAT IS FREAK SHOW?
Nothing original, nothing particular. It's the research of Beauty, of Perfection, whatever form or nature it has got.
This small parallel world allows us to do what we want and it gives us never-ending possibilities.
Flying, teletransporting, join groups made up people from different countries and culture. But it's not enough.
SL gives birth to Art. Digital art, graphic art, less appreciated, less recognized, less welcome.
During my tour around SL I've met every kind of people. And I have to tell you: human beings in SL are the same in RL. With just one exception. The Artists.
Cause SL is a "popular" game, where everybody can create Art. The employ exhibits in one of the most important galleries of Metaverse; the housewife becomes one of the most important visionary artists ever seen; the shy girl has thousands of views on Flickr.
And I, Loglady Loon, want to challenge them all.
The research of Beauty, the obsession for Perfect Avatar. Perfect man, perfect woman. This common vision nauseates me.
For this reason I tried to do the opposite process.
I wanted to create a Nightmare. I've forced artists to think in opposite sense: leaning toward the Macabre. Generating the Ugly.
And the most interesting thing is that this process seems to be more "palpable", more plausible, more human. But it's not enough. I wanted to dehumanize the process and at the same time I wanted them to think about the humanization of a piece of life so much immaterial that could generate similar and opposite thoughts about our reality.
Here the Freak comes to life.
Made inhuman by his look, the Freak man comes down toward a Nightmare. Because he's alone, because he's unique, because he's tremendously original. And this idea could be useful for us too, cause through this project we can put ourselves in a virtual Elephant Man's shoes and think about how the concept of Beauty brakes our wishes, how it carnally and mentally blocks ourselves into a state of Social Paranoia encompassed in a ecomonic scheme that pressures us to do what someone else thinks it's better for everyone.
Self-improvement is masturbation, Palahniuk said. But we are too addicted to reason in a healthy way. And so, let's join to Arts, the last shelter for weak and introspective people.

Guidelines are simple: all artists has to create a Freak-Avatar, respecting and reflecting the reality, the history and the culture inside this phenomenon; afterwards they had to create a digital opera, a free, cathartic, genuine one.
All most important artists of Metaverse joined the project, from different countries, social or cultural level. TV and virtual newspapers have been pleasantly stimulated, many people I've never met joined the project and helped me.
Lack of Beauty Paranoia induced the artists to feel themselves free, to let themselves go, testing "stream of consciousness", an experience that we must feel as more as possible. It's only when the mind has no limits or schemes that it's able to Create truly.
We are too grown up for being genuin, but desire still exists, and in my opinion this is the most important thing.
Showroom setting is, obliviously, a circus. Interely made for the show by a great builder, Miss Asenath Rossini, Time Warp Circus will give hospitality to more than 60 artists from different countries, in Jacopo Perenti's ModalSL-Freak Show SIM.
Show will be available for 15 days and it will start on 2nd February 2009.
In a world in which you can have "one, no one and hundred thousand" identities, you are finally free to create something only for yourself, tremendously for yourself. It could be seen as a "revenge" of Second Life, versus the cultural mediocrity of real world. We have been able to surpass the hypocrisy wall against ourselves, carrying a precious baggage full of feelings and emotions that we will never forget.

I'm Loglady Loon, founder and curator of Freak Showroom.
What's the project?
We are over 60 Second Life digital artists busy on a common project: creating a weird showroom.
We're personifying our own SL Freak Avatar, taking inspiration from real Freaks of history, and then we'll take some artistic pics and we'll gather them for the show.
Showroom setting is, obliviously, a circus. Interely made for the show by a great builder, Miss Asenath Rossini, Time Warp Circus will give hospitality to all artists' works from different countries, in Jacopo Perenti's ModalSL-Freak Show SIM.
Show will be available for 15 days and it will start on 2nd February 2009.
